We’ve been thoroughly enjoying the biking here since we moved to this part of town. We are right in the center of a whole lot of cool destinations here.
We’ve biked up towards Tara and Independence park, biked to Whole Foods, and stopped by the library to drop books off. We’ve gone from the apartment to downtown to shop at the Saturday morning market. We’ve biked to LSU to get a drink at Highland Coffees. Three totally different areas.
I saw a picture of people in Amsterdam with passengers on the back of their bikes, so I’ve added a luggage rack to my bike. Now I can take Luke, Rylee or a friend for a ride when they don’t feel like biking or when we just need an extra seat for extra people. I found a Topeak rack that is strong enough to hold them and I added a Wald folding basket to the rack to help carry our stuff.
The coolest part this week has been walking and biking to the homeschool co-op. I can’t believe our home hunting landed us here, of all the neighborhoods we looked at.
We are saving a little gas every day. I bet it adds up.
